Agreed with all of that except the "tons of revenue" coming in. You know how when you're getting a loan for anything they do a debt to revenue ratio calculation before deciding whether or not to do the loan? Well, if the US economy were looking for a loan today, our debt to revenue ratio would have us effed royally--no way we could get a loan.
We have to increase taxes in order to get the revenue needed to get out of that hole, even if the increase is temporary.
